Aaliyah Biopic

So Zendaya has won the part of Aaliyah.  Kudos to her.

Even though she doesn't look like Aaliyah or even a black girl at that, but I am not going to say anything.

There are a lot of girls who could have played that part, but we'll let Zendaya live.
Kisha Chante (from 106th and Park) has always wanted to play her and she kinda looks like her.  Well, she looks a lot more like her than Zendaya, but it's not all about the looks right.

Teyanna Taylor tried out for the part.  Supposedly she pulled out because the family doesn't want this movie to come out.

That's what brings us to this post today....

People are defending the film saying Barry Hankerson (Aaliyah's uncle) is all for the film.  Of course he is for the film, he is over Blackground Records.  He has been for her music coming out and everything else.  He wants her to make more money.  Especially since he has a record label without any artists.

Remember... JoJo had to sue to get out of her contract.  Wasted all her talents at Blackground.

Aaliyah's mom, dad, and brother have made it clear that they do not want her music to come out.  So I can see them being completely against a whole biopic of her life.

And what is this biopic going to be about?  They are not going to talk about the bad things that happened.  Well, they might, it's Lifetime and they thrive on drama, but can you tell the whole story without the key players:  Aaliyah's mom, Dad, Rashad, Timbaland, R. Kelly, Missy Elliott, Jay-z, and Dame Dash?

They all don't have anything to do with this out of respect for the family.  Missy and Timbaland have said this numerous times.  Speaking of Missy, just get an album out.  I want one.  I need one.  She recently said on Twitter that she was in the studio with Tweet and it felt like old times.  At this point, I don't care if she is in the studio with IceJJFish.  Just get me an album.

I haven't heard any of these people being involved and if they are picking the actress to play Aaliyah, apparently they have a whole script already done and we might as well call this a drama movie based on the story of Aaliyah, because we can't believe it.

Just my 2 cents.
Right Damn Now
