Houston Shooting: Father shoots 17 Year Old Boy in his daughter's room

This story is near and dear to me because I have a 17 year old brother and this happened right near my parents house.  So of course, I wake up calling my brother and my mother making sure he is ok.

A fast tail heifer (my mom's words) had a 17 year old boy in her room, at the time that "ain't nothing open but legs and Wal-mart."  Her brother heard someone in the house, called his dad,  and his dad goes to get a gun thinking it's an intruder.  This is Texas, everybody has guns.  The girl said she didn't know the boy.

Apparently, he and the boy got into a fight and he shot the boy in the head.  So now we have a 17 year old boy dead and a father that will probably go to jail for shooting this boy.  Will the girl get charged?

Of course my little brother knows all these people because the girl goes to his school.

Here's the story from KHOU news:

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—A Spring-area dad fatally shot a teen boy he found in his daughter’s bedroom early Thursday morning, deputies said.

The shooting happened inside a home on Bridgestone Ridge near Bridgestone Path.

Harris County Precinct 4 Deputy Constables were the first to respond after someone called 911 around 2:30 a.m. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the shooting.

Investigators said the father accused in the shooting woke up to find the male teen in his 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom.

According to detectives, his 16-year-old daughter let a 17-year-old boy in the house and snuck him into her bedroom.

Her younger brother went to say good night and saw two feet sticking out under the bed, detectives said. He then went to get his father.

The father walks in and asks questions, but his daughter claims not to know the male teen. The father then called 911, but an argument ensued with the teenage boy.

The father told police the boy dropped his hands as if to grab something, so the man opened fire. The teen died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported, but the father was transported to the hospital to be checked out for medical reasons as he complained that he was not feeling well. Constables said the man appeared to be on several medications.

Neighbors of the family are stunned.

“Oh my god! They just moved in…about a week ago. They just moved in here,” one neighbor said. “No. never spoke to them. Never even seen them. I saw the moving trucks, but I never heard a peep out of them.”

The teen killed has not yet to be identified. Detectives are trying to get word to next of kin.

Constables said the investigation was still underway early Thursday, and no charges had been filed in the case.
